Iran’s supreme leader blames Trump for protest deaths

Ali Khamenei claims that repression and violence are part of an ‘American conspiracy’ to weaken the country politically, militarily and economically

The supreme leader of Ali Khamenei, blamed the President of the United States, due to the deaths that occurred in the recent wave of protests in the country, harshly repressed by the security forces, according to several NGOs.

“We consider the American president guilty of the deaths, the damage and the accusations made against the Iranian nation,” said the Ayatollah before a crowd of supporters gathered for a religious celebration.

“This was all an American conspiracy,” he declared, adding that “the objective of the is to devour Iran (…) is to subject Iran militarily, politically and economically”, he emphasized.
