On Friday, January 16, devastating news spread across the Slovak and Czech music scene. Moderator Marcel Osťo Osztas died at the age of 37 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He spoke about his health problems for the first time in early December 2025. On the social network, many performers dedicated a post to him, through which they said goodbye to him.
Rapper Majk Spirit published an archive photo with Ost and remembered him. “That’s exactly how you loved it… Surrounded by yours and in a good mood… Everyone who knew you knows that there was no funnier and funnier person, but those you let go knew your depth. You lived with your big heart in the palm of your hand… Present, positive, open to life,” he said of the moderator.
He has come a long way. “You have reached your peak, both literally and metaphorically, and then you have descended into an abyss deeper than we can even imagine… You fought proudly and with dignity until the last moment, and then calmly accepted your fate.. You died exactly as you lived.. chilled out!” he continued.
The rapper learned a lot from him. “You have taught me many lessons in life, but this last one was the greatest… I feel blessed to have walked a part of the journey by your side, now I see what a great privilege it was…. You knew how to give those flowers to people while they could smell them, you left the world a happier place, you didn’t try to be the best in the room, you tried to make every room better and you succeeded!” he sent him a message to heaven.
She is waiting for the next meeting with him. “Your infectious humanity and beautiful energy remains in my heart, I will carry it with me everywhere I go from now on. I know you’ll be waiting for me at home and when my time comes and I come there to see you, you’ll greet me there with a big smile like every single time when I came backstage you were in charge,” Spirit recalled.
“You are our BIG BRO 4EVER (big brother forever, editor’s note). Your body is gone, but your spirit remains. It has been a part of this era of ours forever. Thanks to you, we will live more fully, laugh louder and love more warmly. You don’t leave, you just transform. Rest bro. You remain loved. We will miss you terribly. We will never forget… THANK YOU,” added the rapper.
Majk also added an archival video to the social network when he interviewed Ostő. At the end, he sent a message to all the people. “I wish everyone good health, that’s the bottom line. I wish everyone a positive mindset and may they make the right decisions, may their decisions be followed through to the end, may they have a strong will in everything you do this year.
