Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), passed on to Minister Gilmar Mendes, this Friday, the 16th, the files of a habeas corpus presented in favor of the house arrest of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
In the decision, Moraes declares that he is prevented from considering the request due to a regulatory issue. The information is from the Metrópoles portal.
“Since the authority appointed as coercer in this habeas corpus is the minister responsible for analyzing the emergencies in the period, it is impossible to assess the requests made by this vice-presidency”, wrote the minister in the decision.

Moraes temporarily holds the presidency of the Court during the Judiciary’s recess, which began this Monday, the 12th, and which lasts until the 31st of this month, a period in which he responds to urgent matters, which is why he cannot judge the urgency of a case in which he is involved.
The habeas corpus was requested by lawyer Paulo Souza Barros de Carvalhosa. He is not part of Bolsonaro’s defense.
The former president was arrested on November 22 last year, by decision of Moraes. Bolsonaro was detained at the Federal Police superintendence in Brasília, until Thursday, 15th, when he was transferred to Papudinha, also in the federal capital.
