Severe storm in SP leaves people missing after cars are swallowed by water

The strong storm that hit the city of São Paulo this Friday left people unappreciated. Preliminary information from firefighters spoke of three victims, including two cars. However, it is still not possible to determine how many people are actually missing. According to the fire department, four vehicles are engaged in the search, however, they reported that the search has been suspended and will resume on Saturday morning in the morning. The video also shows a red car being swallowed by water.

The two episodes took place at 385 Avenida Carlos Caldeira Filho, South Zone of São Paulo. A video released by Brasil Urgente shows the car almost submerged and people shouting for help and asking a lady to leave the car. However, there was no time and the vehicle disappeared in the water. According to information from the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE), Córrego Morro do S, located on Avenida Carlos Caldeira Filho x Rua Joaquim Nunes Teixeira, overflowed from 5:32 pm to 6:26 pm.

The forecast for the next few days is for more rain. . Civil Defense issued a severe warning due to the storms hitting the capital. “Heavy rain spreading across the capital of São Paulo. There is lightning, winds and conditions for hail”, said the statement.
