Oslo – The Faroe Islands celebrate their first victory in European Handball Championship history. In front of around 6,500 fans – around twelve percent of the country’s total population – the Faroese won their preliminary round game against Montenegro 37:24 in Oslo on Sunday and have a good chance of making it to the main round after a draw against Switzerland. The á Skipagøtu and Mittun family contributed 18 goals – two brothers and their two cousins. The Faroe Islands consist of 18 islands in the North Atlantic and have around 55,000 inhabitants.
