If your crassula sheds individual leaves from the bottom – don’t worry, it’s quite normal. The plant gets rid of the oldest leaves and this is a natural process. The problem occurs when the crassula sheds its leaves en masse, and not only from the bottom. In this way, it responds to unfavorable growing conditions. The cause may be:

• overflow – as a succulent, it is sensitive to excess water. The leaves become soft and transparent, then fall off when touched gently.
• not enough light – most succulents require a large amount of diffused light – the same applies to Crassula. If you don’t give it enough, it may start losing leaves.
• sudden temperature changes – Crassula prefers a constant temperature around 20-25 degrees Celsius. During the rest period, slightly lower, around 10-15 degrees Celsius. However, drafts or airing of rooms causing a sudden drop in temperature may lead to thermal shock and shedding of leaves.
• bad fertilization – Crassula does not require special fertilization. However, both deficiency and excess of nutrients have a negative effect on the plant.
