The procession with the body of Márcio Neri Leite, nephew of federal deputy Socorro Neri, arrived this Sunday morning (18) at the São João Batista Cemetery, in Rio Branco, where the burial will take place. Family, friends and loved ones followed the journey in an atmosphere of strong commotion.
Márcio died on the coast of Ceará when he entered the sea to save his two daughters, who were facing difficulties during a swim in the sea in Fortaleza. He managed to rescue the children, who are doing well, but was unable to return to the sand. Death was confirmed at the scene.

In a note published on social media, Socorro Neri lamented the loss of his nephew and highlighted: “Márcio was on vacation with his two daughters and, upon realizing that they were drowning, he managed to save them. Unfortunately, he was unable to leave the sea, and when he was pulled out he was already lifeless.” She also highlighted the family’s pain and said that Márcio was her “first nephew, and first unconditional love”.
Born in Tarauacá, Márcio built a career in the area of fundraising, working with municipalities in different regions of the country. He worked at the Association of Municipalities of Acre (AMAC) and maintained close contact with public managers and technical teams.
