I grate apples, carrots and horseradish, add sugar and cream. The best salad for Sunday dinner

For Sunday I usually prepare cutlets – minced, pork chop, chopped. My family really likes such traditional dinners, I always cook potatoes and prepare a delicious salad. The recipe for this particular one was created a bit by accident, I was testing the combination of flavors. Today I can confidently say that this is the case salad for Sunday dinner this is our favorite.

  • 100 g of mild-tasting yellow cheese,
  • 1 fresh horseradish root (approx. 4–5 cm),
  • 1 apple,
  • 2 carrots,
  • walnuts (optional),
  • 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream,
  • a pinch of sugar,
  • a pinch of salt.

Peel the carrots and apple, then grate them on a coarse grater. Also grate the yellow cheese on the same grater or cut it into very thin strips.

Peel the horseradish root and grate it using a fine grater. If the horseradish is very spicy, you can add a little less of it, according to your taste.

In a large bowl, mix carrot, apple, cheese and horseradish. Add a pinch of salt and a bit of sugar to soften the sharpness of the horseradish and enhance the taste of the apple.

Add sour cream and mix gently. You can also add a few walnuts.

You can serve the Sunday salad immediately, but it tastes best after a short chill.
