According to investigations, on Friday (16), it was found that more than 40 tons of beef tallow left the company without the knowledge or authorization of the owners. Security cameras recorded the moment the cargo left the location, and the police are investigating whether employees were involved in the scheme.

Beef tallow is widely used in various industrial segments, such as in the production of feed and biodiesel, in the manufacture of cosmetics, including soaps and moisturizers, and also in the chemical industry, for the production of lubricants and varnishes.

The investigation team received information that, on Saturday morning, the truck responsible for transporting the cargo would be parked in the Vila Acre region, in Rio Branco. The police arrived at the location and carried out the approach. During the action, the driver reported that he had been hired by a third party to transport the goods and that he was waiting for the invoice to be issued, with the destination being the states of Rondônia and Goiás.

The truck driver was taken to the Senador Guiomard general police station to provide clarification. While he was being interviewed, the alleged contractor went to the police unit and presented an invoice for the product. After technical analysis, investigators found that the document was false and, given the facts, the man was arrested red-handed for receiving stolen product and using a false document. The cargo was seized and will be returned to the company that owns it.

According to delegate Rômulo Barros, the action highlights the speed and efficiency of police action. “This action demonstrates the efficiency of the Civil Police’s investigative work, which acted quickly and in an integrated manner to prevent a high-value cargo from being sold irregularly. We identified not only the diversion of the product, but also the attempt at legalization through a false document. The investigations will continue to hold everyone involved accountable”, he highlighted.

The operation was supported by the Special Border Operations Group (Gefron). Investigations are ongoing to identify other possible parties involved in the criminal scheme.
