The images, recorded by the police themselves, were initially made public through the Araripina em Foco website and were verified by the g1. In one of the videos, a police officer appears asking one of the victims: “Put your ear there to see if you can handle it?” Other records circulating online show at least three young people being subjected to the same practice.
According to information released, the approach was motivated by an anonymous complaint about a meeting of motorcyclists in an event yard, with reports of dangerous maneuvers and noise pollution on the city’s streets.
In a note, the Pernambuco Military Police reported that the 9th Independent Company of the PM became aware of the case and initiated a preliminary investigation to investigate the conduct of the agents involved. The command highlighted that the circumstances of the approach are being analyzed and that the appropriate measures will be taken after the investigation is completed.
