The European Union’s head of diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, said this Saturday (17) that Russia and China must be enjoying the divisions between Europe and the United States, and that the imposition of tariffs by the US could impoverish both sides. She made the comments after US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on eight European countries for not supporting his intention to annex Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark.
“China and Russia must be having fun at the expense of this. They are the ones who benefit from the divisions between allies”, declared the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policies on the social network
She went on to say that tariffs “could impoverish Europe and the United States and harm our shared prosperity.” Kallas also highlighted the need to prevent the case from “distracting us from our main task, which is to help bring an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.”
