The International Federation of (World Skate, name in English) confirmed the city of as the venue for the World Street and Park Skateboarding Championships, and also for the first Paraskate World Cup, between March 1st and 8th. The official announcement took place this Friday (16), on the entity’s website. Initially scheduled for 2025, in Washington (United States), the event was postponed and rescheduled for the capital of São Paulo.
The disputes will take place at Parque Cândido Portinari, next to Parque Villa-Lobos, in the west zone of the capital of São Paulo. The tournament is expected to bring together almost 400 of the highest ranked athletes on the planet. In the last World Cup, in Rome (2024), won his second street championship. In the park, Raicca Ventura was champion and Augusto Akio took bronze.
“After seven years, we are proud to bring back to Brazil an official World Skate event with a World Championship of this magnitude. This return represents more than just a competition – it is the recognition of Brazil’s fundamental role in shaping global skateboarding culture and producing Olympic champions who inspire millions of people”, highlighted Sabatino Aracu, president of World Skate, in a statement from the entity.
São Paulo has been consolidating itself as the main stage for competitions in the sport. In 2019, the city hosted the skate park World Cup in Parque Villa-Lobos and the street World Cup in Anhembi. The city has also hosted the final of the the world’s main street league. The choice of the capital to host the World Cup is the result of a partnership between World Skate and Skate Total Urbe (STU), which organizes the main skate circuit in Brazil.
“Together [World Skate e STU]we will collaborate in a very strong cycle for {the Olympics]Los Angeles 28, because we believe, and the last two Olympics reinforce this, that skateboarding is today one of the main entertainment sports in the world”, pointed out Diogo Castelão, founder of STU.
The 30 best athletes in the World Skate ranking on December 31, 2025 will participate in the World Championship. On the list of the best ranked in women’s street are Rayssa Leal and Pâmela Rosa. In the men’s category, there are Giovanni Vianna, Kelvin Hoefler, Felipe Gustavo, Wallace Gabriel and Ivan Monteiro.
Among the Brazilians who stand out among the 30 best in the world in the park are Augusto Akio, Pedro Barros, Luigi Cini, Pedro Quintas, Pedro Carvalho, Gui Khury, Luiz Francisco and Kalani Konig. On the list are Raicca Ventura, Isadora Pacheco, Dora Varella, Fernanda Tonissi and Yndiara Asp.
In addition to those listed among the top 30 in the ranking, each country will be able to register up to three skaters in each genre in both street and park.
