
Adif has reported this Sunday of the derailment in Adamuz (Córdoba) of a high-speed train from the Iryo company that had left Malaga at 6:40 p.m. bound for Puerta de Atocha (Madrid). The events occurred just about 10 minutes after starting the trip and at the Adamuz entrance detours, where the accident train invaded the adjacent line, affecting cars 7 and 8 of another convoy bound for Huelva. Traffic on that line has been suspended. The derailment has caused several injuries and possible fatalities, according to the Civil Guard.

The passengers of both trains have had to be evacuated, as reported by Adif, and several emergency teams and firefighters have traveled to the scene of the accident, which have confirmed the existence of injuries but not the number of them. Traffic is suspended on the high-speed line between Madrid and Andalusia due to this incident. Traffic on the rest of the railway network is developing normally.
The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has traveled to the Renfe H-24 emergency center at the Madrid Atocha station to follow the events.
