Eat or be eaten – according to Austria’s agricultural leaders, the farmers are once again very close to the abyss. Farmers are firmly convinced that the Mercosur deal signed by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Saturday will put them under even more pressure. The EU Parliament could still delay the final vote by up to two years. A decision will be made on Wednesday as to whether the European Court of Justice will be consulted on the question of legal compatibility.
