At least ten people died, several were injured and an undetermined number were arrested after the derailment of two high-speed trains in Córdoba, Spain, according to Spanish media.

According to , more than 300 people were traveling on the Iryo train that left at 6:40 pm local time from Malaga to Puerta de Atocha, in Madrid. An hour later, the last three carriages derailed and invaded the adjacent line, where the Renfe train bound for Huelva was traveling, which also derailed.

The accident led to the mobilization of several emergency resources, including firefighters, ambulances and the Guardia Civil.

High-speed train service between Madrid and Andalusia has been suspended.
