In the first match after the approval of Julio Casares’ impeachment, São Paulo was tied 1-1 with Corinthians, in a match valid for the third round of the Campeonato Paulista, at the Neo Química Arena, in Itaquera.
São Paulo took the lead, with Chilean striker Gonzalo Tapia taking advantage of Danielzinho’s cross to send a header into the back of Hugo Souza’s net, in the 37th minute of the opening stage.
The equalizer for Dorival Júnior’s team came just 44 minutes into the second half, from midfielder Breno Bidon, after receiving a pass from Pedro Raul inside the area.
São Paulo, currently 9th in the league table, returns to the field on Wednesday (21), when they host Portuguesa at Morumbi, while Corinthians (7th) face Santos on Thursday (22), at Vila Belmiro.
