Protests in Minneapolis

Victor Manuel Diaz was arrested in Minneapolis, a city in Minnesota, where he lives. She was unarmed, in a vehicle and tried to drive away after being surrounded by agents. One of them shot and killed the woman.

The repercussion was immediate and thousands of people took to the streets in Minneapolis and other cities calling for an end to the actions of the immigration authority. State governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey claim that the actions violate constitutional rights and seek to articulate state laws to stop the increase in ICE agents.

According to official data, between the last half of 2025 and January 2026, ICE mobilized more than 2,000 agents in Minnesota and arrested more than 400 people.
