Tennis player João Fonseca starts the 2026 season of the sport this Monday (19), when he will face the American Eliot Spizzirri. The duel is scheduled to start at 10:10 pm (Brasília time), broadcast on ESPN and Disney+.
The clash is not worth the title, as it will be held in the opening round of the Australian Open.

João Fonseca has not yet played in 2026. The Brazilian had to withdraw from the ATP 250 in Brisbane and Adelaide due to lower back pain, a problem that also took him out of the Davis Cup qualifiers.
Despite physical concerns, Fonseca has intensified his preparation and recently appeared training in Melbourne, alongside Cruz Hewitt, son of Lleyton Hewitt.
Spizzirri is growing in the sport. In the most recent ATP rankings, he occupies 85th position, the best mark of his career to date. The 24-year-old won, in 2025, the main title of his career by winning the San Diego Open, beating Mackenzie McDonald in the final.
