The Juruá River overflowed last Saturday afternoon (17) in Cruzeiro do Sul, in the interior of Acre, reaching 13.01 meters, exceeding the overflow level, set at 13 meters, by one centimeter. After leaving the bed, the spring level continued to rise and, on Monday morning (19), it registered 13.38 meters in the measurement taken at 6 am.

According to a survey by the Municipal Civil Defense, more than 1,400 families have already been affected by the flood, which directly impacts 11 neighborhoods in the municipality. Despite the advance of the waters, so far there have been no requests to remove families from their homes.
According to Civil Defense, teams continue to monitor the areas considered most vulnerable, monitoring the evolution of the river level and providing guidance to riverside communities. As a preventive measure, four schools in the municipal network are prepared for the eventual allocation of families, if necessary. They are: Marcelino Champagnat, Father Arnold, Corazita Negreiros and Thaumaturgo de Azevedo.
The rise of the Juruá River had already been monitored throughout the week. Last Thursday (15), at around 6pm, the level reached 12.19 meters, 21 centimeters above the alert level, established at 11.80 meters. On Friday (16), at 5 pm, the water source rose to 12.61 meters, keeping the municipality in a state of attention until the overflow registered on Saturday.
