PT network uses ‘angry AI’ to deny Pix fake and associates right with cockroaches

The WhatsApp groups maintained by the communication network linked to the PT released videos produced with artificial intelligence (AI) to, at the same time, deny false information about Pix taxation and compare the right-wing leaders who disseminated distorted information about this payment system to cockroaches.

One of the videos is based on the latest trend of using AI to turn inanimate objects into angry characters that tell us how we should interact with them.

PT’s strategy turned the Pix logo into a doll that angrily complains about false insinuations about it.

“These people on the far right won’t leave me alone. They keep lying and saying that I’m going to watch, that I’m going to tax, that I’m going to put an end to it. They’re kidding me, right?”, says the animation, in an angry tone.

Another video spread across WhatsApp groups is about the “far-right cockroaches” who “live in the sewer” and “fly around and spread lies”.

The material used artificial intelligence to create images of supposedly real Pix users, in everyday scenes, being chased by cockroaches.

“The cockroaches say that Ana and Maria’s Pix will be monitored, that the government is keeping an eye on them. That’s a lie”, he highlights.

The video ends with a narration superimposed on an image of two women killing cockroaches with the “truth insecticide”.

“Pix is not monitored nor will it be taxed. When the extreme right sewer opens, the cockroaches always try to scare people with fake news”, says the message.

The content is an attempt to respond to a publication by deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), who once again published distorted information about Pix.

In the video published last week, the parliamentarian appears saying that the government started to “monitor your transactions on Pix” and that the measure would have been taken in a “hidden” and “disguised” way in a normative instruction published in August 2025. “The State started to look at your Pix as if it were suspicious money”, he claims.

As shown by the Estadão Verificathe rule mentioned by Nikolas does not create real-time monitoring of transactions nor is it exclusive or new for Pix.

The regulatory instruction means that fintechs and digital wallets have the same obligations that traditional banks have always had. Everyone needs to report movements above R$5,000 to Revenue, whether in Pix, transfers or other transactions. This has been happening since the creation of Pix, in 2020.

With the dissemination of Nikolas Ferreira’s new video, the IRS published a note in which it “guides the population about fake news involving Pix and taxation.”

“Lies of this type are circulating again on social networks with the aim of deceiving people and serving the interests of organized crime”, says the text.

The video of the cockroaches was released on Friday, the 16th, in groups of PT supporters, three days after Nikolas Ferreira’s video. On the same day, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva criticized opponents for spreading false information.

“We need to face this debate and not cower in the face of the lies and fake news that these people make every single day. I don’t know anyone who teaches anything serious and has 4 million followers. But, if the guy is talking nonsense, he could even have 20 million. Bolsonaro had 30 million,” he stated.

The PT’s communication network does not officially have a connection with the institutional communication of Palácio do Planalto. However, the Estadão has already shown the interaction between the two structures. This network is made up of members of the Lula Institute, the Perseu Abramo Foundation and trade unions.
