Trump’s letter to the Norwegian prime minister: Without a Nobel Peace Prize I do not think about peace

Επιστολή Τραμπ στο Νορβηγό πρωθυπουργό: Χωρίς Νόμπελ Ειρήνης δεν σκέφτομαι την ειρήνη

Donald Trump has sent a letter to Norway’s prime minister, linking his claims over Greenland to the fact that he was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, underlining that he no longer feels obliged to think exclusively about peace, but that US interests are his priority.

In the letter, obtained by Bloomberg, the US president points out that “considering that your country has decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize, I no longer feel the obligation to think exclusively about peace.” He adds that, although peace will remain dominant, “now I can think about what is good and right for the United States of America.”

Elsewhere in the letter, Trump stresses that “the world is not safe unless we have complete and total control of Greenland.”

The Nobel Peace Prize and the Norwegian Prime Minister’s response to Trump

It is noted that the Nobel Peace Prize is not awarded by the Norwegian government, but by an independent committee. Prime Minister Store commented to Bloomberg that he has explained many times to Trump that “an independent Nobel Committee, and not the Norwegian government, awards the prize.”

It is recalled that earlier the American president had exerted new pressure on Greenland, through his Truth Social account, claiming that Denmark has done “nothing” for “20 years” to deal with the “Russian threat” in the region, and adding that “now is the time” and “it will be done” with three exclamation points.
