Vasco showed interest in right-back Dinis Pinto, 25, currently at Moreirense, in Portugal. Despite the efforts of the Rio team, the Portuguese team rejected the negotiation, according to information from the Portuguese newspaper Record.
Also according to the vehicle, the Rio club presented a proposal of 1.5 million euros (around R$9.3 million, at current prices) for the athlete, but the offer was promptly rejected.
Moreirense’s SAF considered the value to be well below the player’s internal assessment. Furthermore, the board assesses that a possible departure of Dinis Pinto in this transfer window is not part of the club’s planning.
The player is seen as one of the most important names in the team coached by Vasco Botelho da Costa.

Who is Dinis Pinto?
Dinis Pinto was trained in the youth categories of Hernâni Gonçalves, Paços de Ferreira and Penafiel. He began his professional career at Lusitânia de Lourosa in Portugal, where he caught the eye before moving to Braga on July 20, 2021.
Pinto’s debut in professional football took place for Braga on December 30, 2021, when he entered the final minutes of the 6-0 rout of Arouca, in a match valid for the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
On June 29, 2023, Moreirense, recently promoted to the Primeira Liga, announced the signing of the full-back without transfer costs. The player signed a contract valid for three seasons with the club.
In his third season playing for Moreirense, the full-back established himself as one of coach Vasco Botelho da Costa’s main choices. In 18 matches played in 2025/26, Dinis Pinto scored one goal and contributed six assists.
