A children’s football game, held last Sunday between Juventude Sport Clube and Sporting Clube de Viana do Alentejo, was marked by a fair play gesture carried out by Vasco Vicente, just 11 years old.
During the match, the young man admitted to the referee that he had scored a goal with his arm, leading the referee to immediately cancel the move and show the white card, a symbol of exemplary conduct. The moment was shared by the Évora Football Association, which highlighted the athlete’s attitude as an example of values in sport.
Recognition didn’t stop with the card. At the end of the meeting, the president of Sporting Clube de Viana do Alentejo offered a club shirt to the young player, highlighting the importance of honesty and respect in grassroots football.
