The driver of a passenger car The Hyundai was heading from Baška to Košice. According to the findings of the police so far, he probably did not adjust the driving speed to his abilities, the condition and nature of the road and the current weather conditions. “In a sharp right-hand turn, he drove his car through the oncoming part of the road, left the road there, hit a tree with the front part of the vehicle, as a result of which the vehicle overturned on its left side. It hit another tree with its roof and remained wedged on its left side.” she specified.

The rescuers could no longer help the driver. “The ordered autopsy will determine whether a sudden medical condition played a role or whether the poor driver had a heavy foot on the gas. It will also confirm the possible presence of alcohol or other addictive substances in the driver’s body,” added Ivanova.

The 64-year-old female passenger was transported by the ambulance crew to one of the hospitals in Košice. According to the preliminary medical report, she suffered severe injuries with an expected healing time of more than 42 days.
