Rescue and identification work continues throughout the night

The work to identify the deceased and recover possible new victims of the Adamuz train accident has continued throughout the night, as announced late on Monday by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, who added that the operation deployed will be active in the area “until normality is restored.” Marlaska confirmed that there are 43 reports of disappearance.

Regarding the bodies that have yet to be recovered, the minister indicated that the security forces and bodies had “visualized” three inside the Alvia train, which add to the 37 already recovered. “Now with the work and the heavy machinery, we hope that these three bodies that are located can be released, extracted and transferred soon to the Forensic Anatomical Institute,” he added, stating that the work would continue “all night.” (EP)
