The federal deputy (União-CE) will ask his party’s bench in the Chamber to decide, upon return from the legislative recess, who will be the official candidate for the vacancy in the (Court of Auditors of the Union) that will be.
Forte launched his name, but there is an internal dispute with (BA), former leader of the bench. “I asked the current leader [Pedro Lucas] bring the bench together as soon as possible so that we have a unified candidate who enters the dispute in its entirety”, says Forte.
Other names put forward are (PT-MG) and (PSD-MG, and more names may appear. Voting will be done by the plenary in a secret vote and in a single round.
The PT hopes that it will be, in return for the support given to the election of the president of the Chamber, (Republicanos-PB).
Forte says he sees no problem with Motta honoring the agreement and working for Cunha’s candidacy, as long as this does not prevent other names from jumping into the race. “It’s his deal [Motta]you have to honor it, what you cannot do is impede the democratic process”, he states.
Specialist in public accounts and former budget rapporteur, he intends to use this experience to his advantage to convince fellow parliamentarians.
Another argument is the defense of women, who, in his assessment, cannot be stigmatized. “There are amendments for good and amendments for evil. The court of accounts has a very important role to differentiate”, says Forte.
He cites as an example an amendment he presented to the municipality of Itapajé, for the construction of a theater on the local campus of the Federal University of Ceará. “It will be the largest university theater in Ceará, made with money from parliamentary amendments”, he states.
