The first national ranking of the National Medical Training Assessment Exam (Enamed), released by the Ministry of Education this Monday (19/1), showed great differences in the performance of the medical courses evaluated across the country. The test classified degrees on a scale of 1 to 5, according to the percentage of graduates who reached the minimum proficiency defined by the MEC.

Among the 10 courses with the best performance, all with a maximum grade (5), there are institutions that showed high proficiency rates among students, indicating consistent mastery of knowledge and skills essential for the practice of medicine. At the other end, the 10 courses with the worst performance, falling under concept 1, recorded very low proficiency percentages, a scenario considered critical by the ministry.
According to the MEC, the Enamed results will serve as an instrument to guide public policies, improve the regulation of medical course teaching and direct supervisory actions. Courses with insufficient performance may be subject to measures such as terms of commitment, restriction of places or suspension of new admissions, while those with better performance become a reference in the evaluation of medical training in the country.
