Strasbourg – The EU Parliament could block the ratification of the controversial EU-Mercosur agreement on Wednesday: two requests to obtain an opinion from the European Court of Justice on the compatibility of the agreements with the EU treaties are up for vote. In advance, the EU Parliament had expected an extremely close result. While the majority of EU MPs from the ÖVP, SPÖ and Neos want to vote against it, the FPÖ and the Greens are in favor of the review.
