Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen told reporters this Tuesday (20) that the territory is preparing for a possible invasion, with troops from Denmark and some from NATO. Nielsen stated that “military conflict is not likely, but it cannot be ruled out.”

Troops from seven other NATO nations are in the territory. The response, given in a collective and reproduced by the American magazine Forbes, came at a time when Greenland is one of the focuses of the Davos Economic Forum. President Donald Trump, of the United States, has already reinforced his desire to take over the territory several times.

Recently, he threatened to tax European countries that oppose the annexation of the territory. In a post on his social network, Truthsocial, Trump declared that his plans to take over the island “there is no turning back”.
