The (Landless Rural Workers Movement) will have 18 candidates for deputies in the election affiliated with the PT. There will be 12 state and 6 federal, across 13 states.
The list was presented by movement leaders this Monday (19) to the party president, Edinho Silva,
In the conversation, the party leader committed to supporting the candidacies and helping to strengthen the activities of popular movements.
Currently, the MST has three federal deputies, all affiliated with the PT: Valmir Assunção (BA), João Daniel (SE) and Marcon (RS).
The idea is to try to increase this bench, as part of the strategy of left-wing parties to strengthen their representation in the Chamber in a fourth Lula government.
To this end, activists who currently serve as state deputies will seek to migrate to the federal Chamber.
One of the bets is Rosa Amorim, 29, state deputy in Pernambuco. In addition to her relationship with the MST, she had a career in the student movement and in groups defending the rights of black people and LGBTQIA+ people. In October, she will be a candidate for federal deputy.
In addition to the names that will compete for the PT, the MST will also have candidates affiliated with other left-wing acronyms.
