The police are conducting a criminal investigation for the crime of manslaughter in connection with the Monday (January 19) death of a 39-year-old man, a citizen of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. which took place in the center of the city of Snina.
As the spokeswoman of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Prešov, Jana Ligdayová, a forensic pathologist, told TASR an autopsy preliminarily confirmed that the man died of stab wounds to the wrist and neck.
“It was a case of self-inflicted injury with a sharp stabbing tool, a knife, while it is possible to rule out someone else’s fault from the actions performed so far,” the spokeswoman said, adding that they are still investigating the case.
