Why was Perdigão attacked?
The report became public through the former athlete’s social networks, who also released images of the moment of the attack. According to him, the situation occurred shortly after the final whistle of the match.
The images quickly had repercussions and generated outrage among fans and internet users, especially due to the way in which the former player was approached by security agents.
According to Perdigão, the confusion began when he approached a police officer just to greet him and congratulate him for the work he had done during the match. Even so, he claims to have been surprised by baton blows, without any prior explanation.
In his statement, the former midfielder highlighted that he tried to calm the situation the entire time, keeping his distance and making it clear that he had no intention of confrontation.
He emphasized that he did not react or adopt an aggressive stance at any time. “At all times I tried to calm the situation, moving away and demonstrating that there was no intention of confrontation. I was not violent, I was not rude and I did not react to the aggression”, wrote the former player in a post on social media.

Aggression and developments in the case
The videos released show Perdigão being shot while trying to talk to the police. In addition to him, another man also appears to be attacked during the confusion recorded at the scene.
The former athlete also showed the marks left by the episode, with bruises and injuries on his body, reinforcing the seriousness of the attack he suffered. When commenting on the case, he stated that the violence was gratuitous and unjustifiable.
Perdigão declared that it is already taking all applicable legal measures and demanded that those involved be held accountable. When contacted, the Public Security Secretariat of Paraná did not respond until the publication of the article, but the space remains open for demonstrations.
