Fernanda Cristina, 29 years old, run over in the Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros Highwayem Bauruwas declared dead by a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Servicebut was revived minutes later by a rescue doctor from the concessionaire responsible for managing the road. The case occurred on Sunday (18).

According to the incident report, Samu was called shortly after the collision and, upon arriving at the scene, the team confirmed the victim’s death. As a result, the highway was closed and the Legal Medical Institute was called to remove the body.
According to the police record, agents from the Military Highway Police arrived at the incident after the Samu team left. Shortly afterwards, a doctor from the concessionaire that manages the highway noticed that the woman was showing respiratory movements, even though she was already covered by a thermal blanket on the road.
When vital signs were confirmed, Fernanda received emergency care and was resuscitated at the scene. Her health status after the help was not detailed in the bulletin released so far.
In a statement, Samu’s management informed that it had opened an internal investigation to investigate the circumstances of the service. The doctor responsible for certifying the death was removed from her duties while the case is investigated.
The episode remains under investigation to clarify any flaws in the care protocol adopted during the incident.
