Acre presents tourism potential at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid

Acre’s tourism potential is being presented to the international market during the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), one of the biggest events in the sector in the world, traditionally held in Madrid, Spain. In this edition, the fair takes place between the 21st and 25th of January and brings together tourism professionals from different continents.

Acre’s participation takes place through the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies (ABAV), which guaranteed space for ABAV/AC in the event’s business rounds. Representing the state, the president of ABAV Acre, Rizomar Araújo, highlights that the presence at Fitur is strategic to increase the visibility of the destination Acre on the international stage.

According to Araújo, ABAV Nacional prioritized its presence at the fair with the aim of presenting the tourist potential of the different regions of Brazil, strengthening the sector and encouraging new business. The inclusion of ABAV/AC in Fitur’s activities opens up concrete opportunities for dialogue with international tourism operators and agents.

“Bringing the Acre product to one of the biggest tourism events in the world, here in Madrid, is reaffirming that our Acre has potential, identity, unique raw materials, capable of generating development, economic growth, employment and income for the Acre population and consequent development of our segment”, defended Rizomar Araújo.

During the presentations, the president of ABAV/AC explained that he highlighted ethnotourism, experiential tourism and geoglyphs, segments that arouse great interest among the European public. Representatives of international operators reported that, although they sell this type of experience in other regions of Brazil, they still do not have tourism products from Acre in their catalogues, which reinforces the potential for expansion of the destination in the foreign market.
