InfinitePay survey shows that microentrepreneurs use assistants for payments, cash control, marketing and credit analysis, in a scenario that could add up to US$1.7 trillion to Latin America’s GDP
Artificial intelligence is no longer a secondary resource in people’s lives, used only to answer simple questions or generate images. Now, technology takes on central functions in the financial routine of small businesses, acting almost like an additional employee of the company. This is what a survey by InfinitePay, a CloudWalk platform, shows, which analyzed millions of interactions with the JIM assistant, an AI tool integrated into the company’s application.
The study reveals that micro and small Brazilian entrepreneurs have used technology mainly on five fronts:
- Payments and financial transactions;
- Real-time consultancy and research to support decisions;
- Audit and cash control;
- Creation of marketing campaigns for social networks and WhatsApp;
- Credit analysis and financial simulations aimed at business expansion.
According to the data, the advancement of AI in the country reflects a global movement. Projections from the World Economic Forum indicate that the adoption of technology in Latin America could increase productivity by between 1.9% and 2.3% per year from 2030 onwards, which would represent a potential gain of up to US$1.7 trillion annually for the regional economy.
Opportunity with security!
For Rafael Artusi, head of Product at InfinitePay and one of those responsible for developing JIM, the data reveals a level of digital maturity in the Brazilian market, in which AI is seen as a tool for efficiency and results, and not just as a trend.
“There is a myth that small businesses are averse to technology. Our data shows the opposite: Brazilian entrepreneurs are extremely quick to adopt what brings efficiency”, he states.
Uses of AI
With more than 6 million active customers and a growing volume of interactions, in 2025 InfinitePay’s AI assistant established itself as the largest generative artificial intelligence platform aimed at micro and small entrepreneurs in Brazil.
Technology works as direct support for business operations, acting almost like an “extra employee”. It crosses daily company data (such as sales volume, cash flow and average ticket) with advanced AI models.
Interaction graphs throughout the year show that entrepreneurs expanded the use of AI to different operational fronts. The five main applications are:
- Automated Finances: More and more entrepreneurs are using AI to make payments and transfers, reducing manual banking tasks and streamlining financial control.
- Connected Consultant: the assistant started to be used as a source of strategic support, which searches and analyzes information in real time for decisions on pricing, inventory and other management routines.
- Real-time control: allows you to instantly monitor business performance, with sales reports and quick responses about peak times, busiest days and other indicators.
- Integrated marketing “agency”: JIM helps create campaigns, images and texts for social networks and WhatsApp, reducing dependence on external agencies.
- Growth strategy: AI also supports credit analysis and simulation, helping to plan new investments, balance cash flow and structure the expansion of operations.
