The Portimão Municipal Market once again dedicates a week to Algarve oranges, promoting this citrus fruit between the 10th and 14th of February, with special prices for the public.
The initiative is organized by the Fruit and Vegetable Sector of the Municipal Market and the municipality and has the motto ‘Algarvian orange – there is no healthier fruit’”.

The program includes daily showcookings, held in the morning, from 10:00 to 11:30, with the presentation of menus inspired by the juicy fruit.
Showcookings highlight the versatility of Algarve oranges
The showcookings are in charge of the Portimão Hotel and Tourism School. The municipality adds that “on February 14th, chef Nuno Martins, from Restaurant ‘NUMA’, will join the event presenting a special moment with a Valentine’s Day theme”.

The action also has the support of Escola Profissional Gil Eanes, which “will collaborate in the photographic recording of the five days during which the event takes place”.
On the last day of the event, the live broadcast of the program “Bom dia, Mercado” returns. According to the municipality, this initiative “intends to transmit the energy of a Saturday morning at the Portimão Municipal Market, particularly this morning dedicated to Algarve oranges”.

The program also has a cultural aspect, being described as “a platform for musicians, singers and other artists from the region, promoting local culture”.

According to the municipality, “’Bom Dia, Mercado’, takes place from 10:00 to 12:00, interacting with operators and customers of municipal commercial equipment”.
The municipality also informs that “the program ‘Bom dia, Mercado’ will continue to be broadcast every fortnight”, through local radio stations in the municipality.
