In his well-known way of exaggeration and provocation, he decided to answer his critics that the actions on the issue put the North Atlantic alliance at risk, arguing in a post on Truth Social that if he had not taken it upon himself, then it would not exist. As he characteristically wrote in his post, “he would have ended up in the ash heap of History”.
More specifically, in his message, Trump claimed that:
“No person, no President, has done more for NATO than President Donald J. Trump. If I hadn’t appeared, there would be no NATO now!!! It would have ended up on the pile of history. Sad, but TRUE!!! President DJT”.
In the meantime, according to a related announcement from the White House, the US president will hold an emergency press conference at 20:00 Greek time.
