The senator (PL-RJ) told an ally on Tuesday night (20) that he feels embarrassed by rumors about disputes on the right for the presidential candidacy and reiterated that his presidential project is for real and that a retreat is ruled out.
The conversation took place before the announcement that the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), alleged scheduling problems. The postponement fueled speculation that Tarcísio was dissatisfied with the former president’s choice of his eldest son as candidate.
As the senator has said, his father’s choice of name is definitive, and Tarcísio will have an important role in the campaign, as a candidate in the most important state in the country.
The senator’s allies also see the total influence of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro in the flow of visitors to the former president in the cell where he is imprisoned, currently in Papudinha.
According to a source close to the family, she is the one who decides who will see her husband, thus maintaining control over the political articulations involving Bolsonaro.
