The minister (Entrepreneurship) says that he maintains the project of being a candidate for the government of São Paulo for the , even with the possible affiliation of his colleague (Planning) to the party.
“I invited her to join. She’s great. But I’m a candidate for governor,” França tells the Panel. The final decision, he adds, will be made by President Lula. “The priority is the re-election of Lula and [Geraldo] Alckmin”.
Today at , Simone is negotiating a change of party and state, migrating from Mato Grosso do Sul to São Paulo, to be an alternative platform for Lula in the dispute for Palácio dos Bandeirantes. She could also be an option for one of the two Senate vacancies.
França was governor for eight months in 2018, after resigning from the PSDB at the time. He says he is betting on the recall of the votes he received in the last two state elections – in 2018, he went to the second round for the government and in 2022, he came second for the Senate.
The minister must resign from the position by the beginning of April to contest the election. Although he prefers the state government, he is also mentioned as a possible candidate option for the Senate.
