Greens are calling for a legal cooling-off phase for E-Control board members

Before the legally required hearing of the nominated board members for the regulatory authority E-Control on Thursday in the Economic Committee of the National Council, the Greens are demanding stricter compliance requirements. The SPÖ apparently got its preferred candidate, Michael Strebl, CEO of Wien Energie, to become E-Control’s board member. “The fact that this means a quick change from the executive chair of the city-owned energy supplier to the regulator is apparently irrelevant to the government,” wonders the Green Party’s energy spokesman, Lukas Hammer. But it doesn’t matter at all.
