At least two robberies were recorded in the same spot in the Tatuapé neighborhood, in the East Zone of São Paulo, in just one week. The crimes, which occurred on Sundays, January 11th and 18th, 2026, were captured by security cameras and show the action of suspects approaching the victims.
In an image obtained by CNN Brazilit is possible to see two men walking along the public road, when a taxi parks and they grab the taxi driver’s phone and run away.

In a statement, the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that, in this case, a teenager was apprehended and sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. According to the ministry, he had previously been arrested for vehicle theft, on December 24, in Ferraz de Vasconcelos.
In relation to another robbery on January 11, the agency reported that a man was arrested in the act and remains detained at the disposal of the Court.
In the statement, the Secretariat reinforced the importance of recording the police report and explained that integrated policing and investigation actions resulted in an average of 9 people arrested per day, resulting in the arrest of 2,900 offenders between January and November 2025 in the area of the 5th Sectional Police Station, responsible for the region.
