Lula criticizes Trump again and says that the right has a ‘very powerful lying industry’

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva once again criticized the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and said that the American’s campaign was responsible for 2 billion messages in the week before the election, in 2024, against his opponent, then vice-president Kamala Harris, of the Democratic Party. He also stated that the right has a “very powerful lying industry”.

Lula’s criticism took place during an event in Rio Grande (RS), in front of an audience of loyal supporters who even caused a moment of disagreement with the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, who also participated in the ceremony. Lula complained about the intense use of cell phones when he criticized Trump.

“We live to help ourselves. We are living very individualistically. I want food, I order it over the phone. I want to pay the bill, I pay it with the phone. If a friend shows up, they’re already bothering me. And the zap group, I have to tell you what I did today, the coffee. Wow, who wants to know that? That’s pure nonsense. And the right knows this, and that’s why the right has a very powerful lying industry. Just to give you an idea, in President Trump’s campaign, last week, they did 2 billion messages against his opponent. This is what the campaign will be like”, declared the Brazilian president.

Lula criticizes Trump again and says that the right has a 'very powerful lying industry'

It was not Lula’s first criticism of Trump this Tuesday (20). Earlier, at another event in Rio Grande do Sul, the PT member said that the Republican tries to “rule the world” through social media. At that time, he also complained about the intense use of cell phones by the population.

“Have you noticed something, that President Trump wants to rule the world through Twitter? It’s fantastic. Every day he says something and every day the world talks about the thing he said. Do you think it’s possible? It’s possible to treat the people with respect if I don’t look you in the face, if I think you are objects, and not a human being”, said the PT member.

Lula and Trump have established a closer relationship in recent months, amid negotiations to reverse the tariff imposed by the North American government on Brazilian products. The two spoke of the “chemistry” they had in their conversations, both over the phone and in person.
