Josias dos Santos Matias, 27, was the victim of an attempted murder on Tuesday afternoon (20), after being hit with six knife blows while trying to return an accessory. The crime occurred on Travessa Boa Sorte, in the Vitória neighborhood, in the upper part of the city of Rio Branco.

According to information provided by the victim himself, Josias had sold a motorcycle in installments to a man identified as Matheus Estevão da Rocha. The buyer only paid the first installment and failed to pay the others.
On Monday (19), Josias took back the motorcycle, but the vehicle had a new exhaust system. Matheus requested the return of the accessory.

On Tuesday afternoon, Josias went to Matheus’s residence to deliver the exhaust. At the scene, the suspect, in possession of a knife, struck the victim six times, two on the back, one on the abdomen, one near the right eye and another on the head. After the attack, the perpetrator fled the scene on foot.
Even though he was injured, Josiah managed to run to his relatives’ house and ask for help. Family members called the Military Police and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), which sent an advanced support ambulance. The victim received initial care at the scene, was stabilized and taken to the Rio Branco Emergency Room, where he was admitted in stable health.

Military police officers from the 3rd Battalion were at the scene, collected information and carried out patrols in the region in an attempt to locate the suspect, but no one was arrested.
The case will initially be investigated by the Ready Employment Team (EPE) and, subsequently, will be under the responsibility of the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP).
