More than 12 million traveled on Rede Expressos in 2025

Rede Expressos transported more than 12.5 million passengers in 2025, registering a growth of 9% compared to the previous year, according to data released by the company.

According to the operator, “throughout 2025, the operation of Rede Expressos closely monitored the growth in demand, through strengthening supply, increasing frequencies and improving connections between regions”.

Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Algarve accounted for more than half of the trips made. The company indicates that “Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Algarve remained the most popular destinations, accounting for more than 50% of the total number of trips made throughout the year”.

Growth also occurred in territories without a railway alternative. As stated in the statement, “there was also significant growth in passengers in all of the more than 200 locations where Rede Expressos is the only operator to provide regular long-distance road connections”.

Airport services and digital channels

The company states that “the restructuring of services allowed the creation of direct connections to Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports, ensuring quick and comfortable access to more than 400 thousand passengers”.

Regarding sales channels, the operator highlights that “sales through the rede-expressos.pt website and the Rede Expressos app once again largely surpassed physical channels”.

For 2026, the company points to several lines of strategic action, including new connections, strengthening territorial coverage and introducing electric vehicles.

According to Nelson Silva, general director of the operator, “the 2025 results confirm the solidity of our strategy and the growing confidence of passengers in . We have grown with balance, adjusting supply to demand, investing in the quality of service and placing the customer at the center of all decisions. In 2026 we want to continue to grow and serve the population, with an even closer network prepared to respond to the new mobility demands in Portugal”.
