Snack delivery man Mateus Avelino dos Santos, aged 30, was the victim of a traffic accident on Tuesday night (20), after colliding head-on with a vehicle on Rua Hugo Carneiro, in the Bosque neighborhood, in Rio Branco.

According to information from witnesses, Mateus was traveling towards the center of the neighborhood on a Mottu model motorcycle, license plate SUE-6F48, when, during the journey, he was eating a coconut drink and ended up getting distracted. When trying to avoid a vehicle that was parked on the road, and allegedly driving the motorcycle with just one hand on the handlebars, the delivery man lost control of the steering, went into the wrong lane and collided head-on with a gray Onix model car with license plate GFQ-1I43, which was traveling in the opposite direction (center-neighborhood).
With the impact, Mateus fell onto the asphalt and suffered only minor bruises on his body. The motorcycle had its front part destroyed, as well as damage to the engine and exhaust. The vehicle presented damage to the right side and the hood was dented as a result of the collision.
After the accident, the driver of the car remained at the scene, provided assistance to the victim and called the Traffic Police. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was also called and sent a basic support ambulance, which provided the first assistance on site. Mateus was then taken to the Rio Branco Emergency Room, where he was admitted in stable health.
Military police officers from the Traffic Battalion were at the scene, isolated the area, monitored the forensic work and prepared the Traffic Accident Report (BAT). The motorcycle was removed by a tow truck, while the vehicle was freed.
