Melbourne – Anastasia Potapova reached the third round of the 63.42 million euro Australian Open on Wednesday. The neo-Austrian, who is playing her first tennis Grand Slam tournament for her new home country, defeated the higher-ranked Brit Emma Raducanu 7:6(3),6:2 after 92 minutes in Melbourne. Potapova will now face top seed Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus in the fight for the round of 16 on Friday. Sabalenka had dispatched the Chinese Bai Zhuoxuan 6:3,6:1.
