The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), postponed the visit he would make on Thursday, 22, to former president Jair Bolsonaro, imprisoned in Papudinha, in Brasília.
According to the State Secretariat of Communication (Secom), Tarcísio asked Bolsonaro to postpone it because of commitments in São Paulo. A new date will be scheduled, Secom stated.
Before the meeting was postponed, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) said, in an interview with the newspaper The Globethat Tarcísio would hear from the former president that “he is doing a great job as governor”, but that the presidential elections are “ruled out” for him. According to the senator, the visit would be of a personal nature.
Opportunity with security!
The governor of São Paulo had stated that he would visit Bolsonaro after authorization from Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) in response to the former president’s defense.
“I’m pleased that he gave me this opportunity, because I’m going to visit a friend there, right? Above all, a great friend, a person who is very considerate”, he said, after handing over housing in São José da Bela Vista (SP).
“I’m going there to express my solidarity, express my support, see if he needs anything. I always need to reinforce that he will always be able to count on me”, he had declared.

This would be the first meeting between the two since Bolsonaro nominated Flávio as a pre-candidate for President, in December. The governor’s last visit to the former president took place in September, when Bolsonaro was still under house arrest. The former president is serving a sentence of 27 years and three months in prison for conviction in the coup plot investigation.
As Estadão showed, Bolsonaro’s transfer to Papuda was articulated by the governor and former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL).
