Czech actor and presenter Mojmír Maděrič († 70) is already in artistic heaven. The news of his death shocked even his loved ones. He breathed his last on Monday night and at first it was not clear what happened to him. The wife of the actor Oto Jirák (76) spoke for the website and put an end to all speculations about the cause of the death of the artist, who he entered the memory of the audience as the face of the Yummy or Prima vařečka show. “It was a sudden cardiac event,” she revealed.
He and Jirák have been friends for decades, and they last spoke on the phone just a day before the moderator’s death. “Otík is sleeping. But he really liked Mojmír. They were friends for forty years“, she told the Czech portal Drahomíra Jiráková. “They lived not far from each other. We spoke with him just yesterday (Sunday, editor’s note), so it was simply a matter of the heart. It’s a terrible pain,” she added.
In addition to hosting, he was one of the stars of the theater, he played several characters on television and also engaged in dubbing. His last roles in front of the cameras were a role in the series Code Blue and a character in the fairy tale Princess and a Half Kingdom. For many years, he lent his voice to the character of Smithers in the popular series The Simpsons. During the 36th series, however, he was replaced by the Czech actor Jiří Panzner.
He also remembered the deceased artist František Ringo Cech. „Mojmír Maděrič was one of the members of the most famous ensemble of my theater. Oldřich Navrátil, Ota Jirák, Mojmír Maděrič, Helena Růžičková and Uršula Kluková were there. Those were the biggest stars of my theater. Still unsurpassed when we talk about acting quality,” the founder of the Czech Provisional Theater told the portal.
Maděrič had a special privilege with him. “At my theater, the actors know that they are not allowed to add their own forums, only I can do that. But Maděrič and Jirák could, because they were terribly funny. So Mojmír could say what he wanted, he could add his own things to the task.” Czech shared. “He will be greatly missed. He was a great person,” he sighed. Cech knew that his friend had long-term health problems.
