Integration Minister Claudia Bauer, formerly Plakolm, wants to “state clearly what we expect from you” and she wants to punish those who do not comply. We are talking about migrants and the integration that the state requires for them. In the future, there will be penalties for those who refuse to integrate, as the ÖVP minister describes them, in order to “strengthen the obligation to cooperate”. These penalties can amount to several thousand euros, and at the same time social benefits can also be significantly reduced. This can be the case, for example, if German courses or the values courses are not completed or the values charter is rejected.
