Trump says he “likes” Lula and predicts the Brazilian’s “great role” in the Peace Council

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Tuesday, 20, that the Peace Council he created for the Gaza Strip could eventually replace the United Nations.

Also according to Trump, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who was invited to the Council, will have a “big role” in the entity.

“I like him,” Trump said during a press conference about his first year in office.

Trump also said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin could have a very big role in the Peace Council.

The Brazilian government confirmed the invitation, but says that Lula prefers to evaluate the geopolitical conditions involving the entity’s role before making a decision.

The Council, announced on Friday, will have a group of permanent countries, and, to access this seat, it will be necessary to pay a fee of US$1 billion, according to the invitation sent by the Trump administration.
